Hi, I’m Rob Richardson. I am a Tattoo Artist working from a private studio 15 minutes from Carlisle, England and I specialise mostly in black and grey realism tattoos. More specifically, I enjoy doing fan art – anything from movie portraits to musicians and other pop culture. I also love to tattoo nature and wildlife inspired designs. This website is an example of my most recent portfolio, with details about my current focuses, designs available and booking information. Follow me on social media for regular posts and updates.

Designs & Booking

I prioritise and focus my tattooing on my own designs and fan art style tattoos posted below. As a result, I will not be taking on any commission requests that come my way. Please do not take it personally if I recommend another artist to do your tattoo. If my priorities happen to change , I will update this page to reflect those changes. Below is a selection of designs currently available. These are all one-off tattoos and I will not reproduce the same design on more than one client. To enquire about a design, simply click to enlarge and complete the simple form.

If you would like a portrait tattoo of a friend or loved one it is essential that you have the correct style and quality reference image. My preferred choice is a good quality, high contrast photo (light to dark areas), taken by a professional. Photos that are very light, monotoned or poor quality are bad images for my style. Swipe right to see examples of good & bad images that you could attempt yourself or take to a photographer. If you would like a design, please provide ideas or reference images. If you don’t think you can provide a good image, it may be worth considering something else to symbolise that person.

Enquire about a movie tattoo or other pop culture. Please attach reference images.
Single portraits take an estimated 1 day session. Multiple image designs may take 2 or more day sessions.
Note, due to a busy schedule, not all enquiries will be accepted. Please do not be offended if I recommend somebody else for your tattoo.

FAQ

What are your rates?

Prices can vary based on the size and detail of a tattoo. I work 4-5 hour sessions on each client priced at £550. Designing is free of charge for free-reign pieces and tattoo designs that I post.

Can I email about an idea I have for a tattoo?

I am not currently taking on commission enquiries, see "bookings" for more details. Make sure to check out all of the artists at www.blackfriarstattoohouse.co.uk.

How long are you booked for?

Usually, I book up to 6-8 weeks ahead. This keeps waiting times short and realistic. Sometimes I have cancellations or days I have kept free and I will inform people via my social media pages if these become available.

I saw a tattoo you did; can you send/sell me the design?

No. My designs are intended to be one-off tattoos for my clients and you do not have my permission to replicate this. I'm happy you like the tattoo; you could take it to a good tattoo artist and they will use it as inspiration for your own piece. Good tattoo artists don't copy.

How can I contact you regarding a non-tattoo enquiry?

You can email me at contact@robrichardsontattoos.com
